Opportunities and Schedules

In Volunteer Scheduler Pro, each schedule is associated with exactly one opportunity. When you begin using VSP, you be asked what volunteer opportunity you would like to organize, and all schedules will be associated with this opportunity.

If you are only using VSP to schedule one thing -- bingo nights, for example -- you may only need one opportunity. However, if you are using VSP to schedule multiple things that operate independently of one another -- for example, bingo nights, a soup kitchen, and an annual festival -- then you will want to create a different opportunity for each type of event (i.e Bingo Night, Soup Kitchen, and Fall Festival).

Creating New Opportunities

To create a new opportunity, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Opportunities pane and click on the "+" button in the upper right, then click "New opportunity" in the drop-down.
  2. Give the opportunity a name and select which volunteers the opportunity is relevant to:
  3. Click the "Create" button to add this opportunity.
